Ministry calls on Croatian citizens abroad to postpone travel to Croatia

The Croatian Foreign and European Affairs Ministry, in agreement with the National Civil Protection Authority, on Tuesday called on Croatian citizens who temporarily or permanently live and work abroad to postpone all travel to Croatia that is not necessary until further notice.

"We advise that Croatian citizens stay in their place of residence to minimise exposure and reduce the risk of coronavirus infection for themselves, their family and those around them. It is recommended that all short-term travel to Croatia be avoided unless it is urgent", the Ministry said.

The Ministry pointed out that everyone entering Croatia from abroad will be subject to mandatory 14-day quarantine or will be issued an order to self-isolate for 14 days.

"They will be subjected to the same procedure when returning to the countries they had come from," the Ministry underscored.

They also warned of frequent changes in other countries, including those of rules concerning border crossings or air travel, which could make it difficult or impossible for Croatian citizens to return to the countries where they live and work.
